MATCH PREVIEW | Rhinos host Bulls in Reserves finale this Wednesday

The final round of the Reserves season sees Leeds Rhinos clash with local rivals Bradford Bulls at AMT Headingley Stadium on Wednesday night as Chev Walker's side look to finish the season with a win before their Grand Final appearance later this month.

Victory over Castleford Tigers at the OneBore Stadium in August confirmed Leeds' place in the Grand Final - their first appearance since the competition returned in 2022 - as well as continued a six-game winning streak in the competition that has contributed to a wider ten wins in eleven games this campaign. Walker's side has been made up of a range of talent over the course of the season ranging from experienced Super League figures like Andy Ackers and Elliot Wallis to the club's youngest Under-18s stars Jacob Hardy, Zak Lloyd and more, but the side has continued to find results at every stage of the year. Notably performers this year have been Presley Cassell, who leads the Leeds try scoring charts with seven tries in the competition, and leading goal kicker and points scorer Jack Sinfield, plus Marcus Qareqare, Harley Thomas and George Brown have been keen scorers in both Under-18s and Reserves competitions too.

After four wins against Leigh, Huddersfield, St Helens and Bradford to open the campaign, Hull FC proved to be stumbling block in a tight 18-16 defeat for the young Rhinos, yet they bounced back in style to go top of the table with wins over Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves. Challenges against Wakefield, Salford, Hull KR and the Tigers have also been seen off over the last two months to keep the Rhinos top of the table, but Wednesday's test against the Bulls is an opportunity to crown a fantastic season before they clash with either Warrington or Wigan in the Grand Final later in September.

Bradford close out their season at AMT Headingley having secured two wins in eleven outings. Although it is an improvement on their one-win campaign in 2024, the club looks ahead to finishing the Championship season strong before a decision is made on the Super League places in 2026.

Having been one of the teams to lose to the Rhinos during the season, the Bulls get another chance to challenge the league leaders after beating St Helens 32-18 last time out. The result added to a 24-20 win over Hull FC at the beginning of the season, as well as a 22-all stalemate with Wakefield Trinity in the only other game Bradford has come away with league points in.
